OXFORD - Anna H. (McDaid) Shea, 63, of Dudley Road, died Sunday, February 21, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital, from complications of osteogenesis imperfecta compounded by severe osteoporosis. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Daniel F. Shea of Oxford; their son and daughter, Daniel B. Shea of Chandler, AZ, and Koren A. Adams and her husband Christopher of Webster; a brother, Victor of Ireland; five sisters, Celine, Marian, Majella, Eugenia, and Teresa of Ireland; five grandchildren, Katrina, Abigail, Vivian, Elisabeth, and Bryce; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Gerelyn. She was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, the daughter of the late Thomas V. and Eileen (McHugh) McDaid, and lived in Ireland before moving to the United States to work as a governess at age 21. She lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 33 years ago. Mrs. Shea was a machine operator at several area envelope companies for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. Mrs. Shea was an exceptionally creative person who excelled in many crafts, including making clothing, embroidering, beaded jewelry, and wedding cakes. She enjoyed country line dancing, gardening, shopping with her daughter for the grandchildren, occasional trips to the casino, and traveling with her husband in their motor home. The calling hours, funeral Mass, and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bryce Adams Trust, c/o Webster Five Cent Savings Bank, 343 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
