WORCESTER – Anna J. (Gribouski) Desmarais, 94, of Butler Street, died Monday, June 20, 2022, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Wallace J. Desmarais Sr. who died in 2015. She is survived by a son, Wallace J. Desmarais Jr. of Worcester; three daughters, Linda A. Warren of Florida, Patricia M. Kozberg and her husband Ken of Oakham, and Jill Putis and her husband Ron of Oxford; fourteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Mikelonis who died in 2014; two brothers, and two sisters. She was born in Sutton, daughter of the late Michael P. and Monica (Batulevich) Gribouski, and lived in Sutton before moving to Worcester many years ago. She graduated from Sutton High School in 1945 and attended the Worcester School of Business.
Mrs. Desmarais worked for the City of Worcester water billing department for 13 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, crocheting, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. A calling hour will be Friday from 11 a.m. – 12 noon at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
