Alice Castellano

WEBSTER - Alice L. (Hicks) Castellano, 50, died Friday, September 25, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester, after a long battle with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Dominic M. Castellano of Mendon; four daughters, Amanda M. Rivas and her husband Sid of Charlton, Melissa L. Butler and her husband Bruce Lopez of Webster, Ashely E. Baribeault and her husband Robert of Oxford, and Kayla R. Butler of Oxford; her mother, Joan I. Hicks of Charlton; three brothers, Michael Hicks of Barre, Douglas Lapensee of Auburn, and Dennis Lapensee of Auburn; nine grandchildren, Kylie, Jayden, Zachary, Alexis, Andrew, Anthony, Ariana, Ayden, and Aubree; the father of her children, Donald Butler of Millbury; many nephews and nieces; and her beloved dogs, Molly and Lucy. She was born in Albany, NY, daughter of the late Robert "Huey" H. Hicks, lived most of her life in Oxford and several years in Webster. Mrs. Castellano owned and operated Alice in Wonderland Daycare in Webster for several years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed crafts, shopping, collecting dolls, caring for children, and especially loved singing. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext, Charlton. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Westridge Cemetery in Charlton. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 30, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celgene Corporation for Langerhan Cell Histiocytosis Research, 7 Powder Horn Dr., Warren, NJ 07059.
