Al Gallant

FISKDALE – Al J. Gallant, 76, of Finlay Road, died Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy P. (Polinski) Gallant of Fiskdale; six children, Deborah Leite and her husband Anthony of Leicester, Darlene Ashey and her husband Rick of Gray, ME, William Gallant and his wife Melanie of Maine, Keith Gallant and his wife Elizabeth of Brookfield, Kert Gallant and his wife Joselyn of Southbridge, and Mark Gallant and his wife Bonnie of Holland; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son Scott Gallant. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Alphonse and Gladys (Towle) Gallant, and lived in Oxford, Charlton, and Holland, before moving to Fiskdale 17 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Gallant was retired from R.H. White Construction, where he worked for 30 years. He was an avid collector and especially enjoyed his model railroad collection. He will be missed by his beloved dog, Honeybuns.

No funeral service is planned. Burial will be private at a later date at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
