Ada Whaley

OXFORD - Ada E. (Rixham) Whaley, 93, of Wheelock St., died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Warren P. Whaley of Oxford, who died in 1995. She is survived by two brothers, Everett Rixham and Lewis Rixham, both of Millbury; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. She was born in Millbury, the daughter of the late Maurice and Ethel (Faulkner) Rixham, and lived in Millbury before moving to Oxford in 1938. Mrs. Whaley was the night cook at the former Oxford Manor Nursing Home in Oxford for 7 years, retiring in 1972. She was a former member of the Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. A calling hour will be 10 - 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the funeral home prior to the service.
