Biography
OXFORD – Glenelle J. (Murray) Walsh, 52, of Old Webster Rd., died Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton, after a courageous 6 month battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Thomas Walsh of Oxford; two daughters, Jessi L. Walsh and Kelly J. Walsh, both of Worcester; her mother, Norma J. (Benjamin) Murray of Oxford; her maternal grandmother, Florence (Fish) Dusty of Webster; two brothers, Terry B. Murray of Sturbridge/Kissimmee, FL, and Daniel T. Murray of Holden; and her best friends from grade school, Sue Melvin Deasey of Oxford and Carol Brunette of East Lansing, MI. She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Glenwood D. Murray, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1975.
Glenelle was a rater for commercial line insurance at Hanover Insurance Co. in Worcester, where she had worked for a total of 20 years. In addition, she was an administrative assistant at Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford from 1993 – 2000, and was a waitress at several area restaurants. She loved camping, especially in the new camper, walking, and recently started golfing and jogging. She was a skillful quilter and made many quilts for family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with the Fab 11. Glenelle’s family would like to give a special thank-you to her nurse Yen for the comfort she gave her.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Monday, December 21, 2009, from 6-9 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Fire/EMS Dept., 181 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to the Overlook Masonic Health Center, PO Box 1000, Charlton, MA 01507.
